Jeff Woolnough gets DGC Awards Nominations

RMG client Jeff Woolnough has received a Best Director nomination in the Television Movie/Miniseries category for his work on Keep Your Head Up Kid: The Don Cherry Story at the 9th Annual Directors Guild of Canada Awards, being held on Saturday, September 25, 2010 in the Fairmont Royal York Hotel in Toronto. In addition, Keep Your Head Up Kid is also up for Best Television Movie/Miniseries, Best Editor, and Best Sound Editor.

Keep Your Head Up Kid tells the life story of Don Cherry, a former hockey player and coach. Part one starts with Cherry’s childhood and takes us through his career in the minor leagues, including his one and only NHL game with the Boston Bruins. Part two explores the years he spent coaching the Rochester Americans and the Boston Bruins, and then his transition to a career in broadcasting.

Woolnough also received a nomination for Best Television Series (Drama) for his outstanding direction of Being Erica, Episode 109 – “Everything She Wants”.  All of us here at Rain Management Group wish Jeff and his crew the best of luck come award night.

With 4.2 Household Rating, The Pregnancy Pact Averages 5.9 Million Total Viewers

Lifetime Television’s Original Movie The Pregnancy Pact, directed by RMG client Rosemary Rodriguez (Acts of Worship, Rescue Me, Castle) and starring Camryn Manheim, Nancy Travis and Thora Birch, generated strong ratings in its January 23 world premiere, including a 4.3 rating among Women 18-49, a 4.8 in Women 18-34, a 3.7 Women 25-54 rating, a 3.65 among Women 18+ and a 4.2 in Households.  The Pregnancy Pact’s impressive performance propelled the film to become the number one rated movie on ad-supported cable in over 10 years among Women 18-34 since 1998, in over three years among Women 18-49 since 2006, as well as Adults 18-34 (3.1) since 2004.

In delivery, it was the most watched movie on ad-supported cable in over 15 years among Women 18-34 since 1994 (1,371,272 viewers), among Women 18-49 since 2001 (2,476,310) and Adults 18-34 since 2002 (1,772,952).  It also is the most watched Lifetime Original Movie premiere in Lifetime’s 26 year history among Women 18-34, Women 18-49, Adults 18-34 and Adults 18-49 (3,220,994).  The film averaged 5,855,624 Total Viewers, according to Nielsen Media Research.

The Pregnancy Pact was also the second highest rated Original Movie premiere for the network ever among Women 18-34 and Adults 18-34.  In addition, of the 214 Lifetime Original Movies, the film ranked as the 4th highest rated movie among Women 18-49 in Lifetime’s history.

Online, The Pregnancy Pact significantly increased traffic to the network’s official website, myLifetime.com, which generated more than 3.8 million page views over the weekend, the second most trafficked weekend in the site’s history.

Saturday Night Premiere: Rosemary Rodriguez’ The Pregnancy Pact

Our director client Rosemary Rodriguez (Castle, Rescue Me, Acts of Worship) will be premiering her new movie, The Pregnancy Pact, this Saturday, January 23 at 9:00 PM on the Lifetime Channel.

The Pregnancy Pact stars Thora Birch (American Beauty, Alaska) as an on-line magazine journalist returning to her old town to investigate the sudden rise of teenage pregnancies. Also starring is Camryn Manheim (Ghost Whisperer, The Practice) as the school nurse in the town. The story is set against the real-life news reports out of Gloucester, Massachusetts of a stark rise in teenage pregnancy.

Wayne McClammy to Direct RomCom ‘Pumas’ Starring Jennifer Aniston

RMG client and director Wayne McClammy will direct CBS Films’ romantic comedy, “Pumas”.  Jennifer Aniston is attached to star in the film, and Melissa Stack will write the screenplay.  Aniston will also produce along with Jon Gordon, Scott Z. Burns and Kristin Hahn.

anistonThe story takes centerstage with a couple of thirty-something women who make a habit of romancing younger men and take a French skiing vacation that defies their romantic expectations.

“Pumas” marks the first major feature helmed by McClammy, who received great notoriety and acclaim from his work on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” with his sketches, I’m F’ing Matt Damon – and the aptly titled follow-up, I’m F’ing Ben Affleck.
